Tyler Perry as Madea, Joe, and Brian
Tyler Perry plays three related but very different characters: Madea, her brother Joe, and Joe’s son Brian.
Madea
Mabel “Madea” Simmons is the outspoken matriarch who travels to the Bahamas for her great-niece Tiffany’s wedding. She brings her familiar blunt humor to the resort while watching the family drama unfold around the young couple.
Madea has been Perry’s signature character since Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Her mix of suspicion, confidence, and fierce family loyalty remains central to the comedy.
Joe Simmons
Joe is Madea’s brother and Brian’s father. He approaches the tropical trip as a vacation rather than a serious family occasion, creating trouble through his gambling, jokes, and questionable advice.
Perry’s performance as Joe is broader and more reckless than his portrayal of Madea, giving the family gathering another source of chaos.
Brian Simmons
Brian is Tiffany and B.J.’s father, Debrah’s ex-husband, and Madea’s nephew. He is shocked to learn that Tiffany plans to marry a rapper she met on a yacht—and that the ceremony is only two weeks away.
While the rest of the family prepares for the trip, Brian worries that his daughter is making a life-changing decision too quickly. His concern gives the wedding story its central family conflict.
Diamond White as Tiffany
Diamond White plays Tiffany, the daughter of Brian and Debrah and the bride at the center of the story.
Tiffany’s sudden engagement to Zavier catches her father off guard. She is confident enough in the relationship to plan a destination wedding, but the speed of the arrangements leaves Brian and other relatives with questions.
White previously played Tiffany in Boo! A Madea Halloween and Boo 2! A Madea Halloween. Her return allows the film to continue the story of Brian’s daughter as an adult rather than introducing a new member of the family.
Outside the Madea franchise, White is known for roles in Empire, The Bold and the Beautiful, and the animated series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
Xavier Smalls as Zavier
Xavier Smalls plays Zavier, Tiffany’s fiancé and the groom in the Bahamas wedding.
Zavier is a rapper whom Tiffany met during a yacht trip. Because Brian knows little about him and has barely had time to process the engagement, he initially views the young man with considerable suspicion.
Madea’s Destination Wedding was Smalls’ feature-film debut. He previously appeared as Angel in Tyler Perry’s Netflix drama Beauty in Black.
Taja V. Simpson as Debrah
Taja V. Simpson plays Debrah, Tiffany and B.J.’s mother and Brian’s ex-wife.
Unlike Brian, Debrah supports the hurried engagement and helps move the destination-wedding plans forward. Her eagerness creates tension with Brian, who believes the family should slow down and learn more about Zavier.
Simpson previously appeared as Debrah in Boo 2! A Madea Halloween. She is also known for playing Priscilla Owen in Tyler Perry’s television series The Oval.
Jermaine Harris as B.J.
Jermaine Harris plays B.J., the younger son of Brian and Debrah and Tiffany’s brother.
B.J. joins the family trip to support his sister, but he is not burdened by the same concerns as his father. His quieter personality offers a contrast to the louder relatives surrounding him at the resort.
The film marked Harris’ first appearance in the Madea franchise. His earlier credits include the Disney Channel series Saturdays and the film The Map of Tiny Perfect Things.
Cassi Davis Patton as Aunt Bam
Cassi Davis Patton returns as Aunt Bam, Madea’s outspoken cousin and one of the franchise’s familiar comic characters.
Bam accompanies the Simmons family to the Bahamas and shares Madea’s willingness to comment on almost everything she sees. Her direct personality makes her a natural participant in the conversations and suspicions surrounding the wedding.
Davis Patton has played Aunt Bam in several Madea projects, including Madea’s Big Happy Family, A Madea Family Funeral, and A Madea Homecoming. She is also widely known as Ella Payne from House of Payne.
Tamela Mann as Cora
Tamela Mann plays Cora, Madea’s daughter and Mr. Brown’s daughter.
Cora is generally more measured than Madea, Joe, or Aunt Bam. She often reacts to the family’s disorder rather than creating it, helping balance the more exaggerated personalities during the Bahamas trip.
Mann has portrayed Cora in Tyler Perry’s stage productions, television series, and films for more than two decades. Her earlier appearances include Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Meet the Browns, and A Madea Homecoming.
David Mann as Mr. Brown
David Mann returns as Leroy Brown, better known as Mr. Brown. He is Cora’s father and a longtime member of Madea’s extended family circle.
Mr. Brown brings his colorful clothes, nervous energy, and unusual logic to the destination wedding. His attempts to enjoy the resort and participate in the family activities produce several of the film’s physical-comedy moments.
Mann first played Mr. Brown in Tyler Perry’s stage productions before carrying the role into the film and television versions of Meet the Browns and later Madea movies.
